Travious Ford (Greenville, N.C.) had a big game one and a homer in game two and sophomore
Dan Raglievich (Dumont, N.J.) had a solid game one start as the Post University split their home opening Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against University of the Sciences. Post won game one, 5-2 and dropped game two, 4-1.
Raglievich was a stud on the mound in his game one start, striking out six and giving up one unearned run in 5.1 innings. He was perfect through the first four innings.
The two teams were scoreless for the first five innings before the Devils got on the board on a passed ball, but the Eagles answered in the bottom of the seventh as freshman
Christian Aliberti (Eastchester, N.Y.) drove in Ford with an RBI single to left. Ford reached on a pinch hit single and advanced on an error to set the table for Aliberti.
It was just the start of Ford's big day. In the bottom of the eighth, sophomore
Matt Goehrig (Clifton, N.J.) reached on a double to centerfield before classmate
Danny Di Marzo (Fishkill, N.Y.) singled to right to put runners on the corner. After Di Marzo advanced on a defensive indifference, freshman
Isaias Guzman (Passaic, N.J.) singled to center to score pinch runner, junior
Kwan Jones (Easthampton, N.J.) to give the Eagles the 2-1 lead. Ford then came up to put the game away, doubling to let to scored Di Marzo and Guzman to make it a 4-1 game. Aliberti drove in Ford to make it a 5-1 game for his second RBI of the game.
The Devils scored one more run in the top of the ninth for the final score.
Aliberti finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI. Ford was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Senior
Mike Munson (Plainville, Conn.) recorded the win in relief and is 1-0 on the season. He struck out three in two innings. Junior
Tyler Boisvert (Waterbury, Conn.) had two strikeouts in 1.2 innings.
In game two, the Eagles (4-10, 1-3 CACC) managed three hits, but Ford made one of them loud, blasting his first home run of the season to left field, cutting into the Devils lead and making it a 4-1 game. It would be all the scoring for the Eagles in the game.
USciences scored a run apiece in the second and third innings and two in the fourth on an RBI double by Joe Duffy.
In relief, sophomore
Travvis Ferguson (Nassau, Bahamas), struck out four in just 1.2 innings.
On the mound, Kris Morgenweck had seven strikeouts in five innings for USciences and got the win.
