Men's Hockey Plays Assumption Tough, But Fall 1-0

Box Score Shelton, Conn. - Sophomore Brandon Brown (Hanahan, S.C.) had 52 saves - including 25 in the first period - but the Post University men's hockey team dropped a 1-0 match to Assumption on Friday evening at the Sportscenter of Connecticut.

The Eagles fell to 9-16-0 on the season.

After a scoreless first two periods, Assumptions Michael Zampanti took a pass from Ryan Loranger and Matt Drake to give Assumption the lone goal of the game and the eventual victory at the 3:43 mark of the third period.

The Eagles had 35 shots on goal themselves, but were all thwarted by Drew Benedict. Junior Tyler Hackett (Branford, Conn.) led the way for Post with five shots on goal while sophomore Evan Lugo (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and junior Lucas Smith (Calgary, Alberta) each had four.

The two teams meet again on Saturday at Military Appreciation Night. The puck drops at 5:30 p.m.
