Pagan, Haines Have Double-Doubles As Women’s Basketball Wins Fourth Straight Over Queens

Flushing, N.Y. – Sophomore Sha'raya Haines and freshman Tai Pagan each had double-doubles as the Post University women's basketball team extended its winning streak to four games in a 73-52 victory over Queens on Wednesday evening.

Haines Finished with 22 points and ten rebounds while Pagan – the reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Defensive Player of the Week – had ten points, 15 rebounds and three blocks.

Post took control early, leading 22-13 after the first quarter as Haines poured in ten of her points, while junior Taylor Williams hit two threes to help break the game open. Post finished the quarter on a 14-6 run.

The Eagles extended its lead to 14 points in the beginning of the second after a jumper from Williams and a three-pointer by junior Hannah Benac to make it a 27-13 game. However, Queens closed the gap to 37-33 at the break as Nora Gabel and Tayanee Peay each hit a three-pointer in the final 4:18.

Post's defense turned it around in the third, holding the Knights to just six points and extending its lead to 55-39. Pagan had eight points and four rebounds in the quarter to help blow the game open.
