Waterbury, Conn. – Junior Sergio Diaz scored two second half goals as the Post University men's soccer team defeated Dominican, 3-0 in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tournament on Monday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

Diaz, who was named to the All-CACC First Team earlier in the day got the scoring going in the 48th minute on a penalty kick, after a foul inside the box.

Just 14 minutes later, Diaz showed off his ball handling skills as he dribbled to his left ten yards, found an opening, and struck the ball past goalkeeper, Tyler Doll to make it a 2-0 game. It was Diaz's 16th goal of the season.

In the 70th minute, junior Alvaro Sanchez, who was also named to the All-CACC First Team took a beautiful lead pass from sophomore Sergio Sanchez and sidestepped Doll, who came out of the net and walked the ball in for the final goal.

"Today was a great group effort and I am very proud of the guys for the performance today," coach Ted Haley said. "We were very solid across the back line, the middle of the park was spot on, and we created a number of great chances and got our goals. We are excited to move to the semifinal knowing that one more match showing the quality we have can get us to a final!"

The Eagles, seeded second in the CACC tournament will play third-seed Holy Family on Friday, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Municipal Stadium.
