Melanie Polanco (Meriden, Conn.) scored 20 points to lead five Eagles in double figures, but the Post University women's basketball team's comeback bid fell short in an 89-85 defeat by the hands of Felician in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.

Gabriela Middleton (Coral Springs, Fla.) scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds and junior
Mia Crooms (Bronx, N.Y.) had a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. as the Eagles fell behind 13 points heading into the fourth quarter before rallying and cutting the deficit to three points.
Crooms had 11 points in the fourth, including 9-for-9 from the free throw line. Polanco scored nine in the frame. Down 68-54, the Eagles rattled off a 13-4 run over the first 2:56 of the quarter, capped by a three-pointer from Middleton. Felician pushed the lead back up to nine at 76-67 on a layup by Bionca Chambers, but the Eagles would cut the deficit to three points on four different occasions. The last on a three-pointer by Polanco with a second left. However, Felician went 1-for-2 at the free-throw line on its final possession to seal the game.
The Eagles (7-10, 3-6 CACC) scored the first four points of the game and led by as much as five points (8-3) to start the game. The Golden Falcons then went on a 16-6 run to take a 19-14 lead before the Eagles rattled off nine straight points to take a 23-19 lead. Crooms scored four points in the final run of the first quarter, and Chambers hit a three with one second left to cut the Eagles lead to 23-22 heading into the second.
Felician took a 44-38 lead as Chambers scored nine of her game-high 34 points in the quarter.
The Golden Falcons (5-10, 5-3) extended their lead to as much as 17 points in the third to offset Middleton, who scored nine points in the quarter, and didn't miss a field goal (2-for-2) or a free throw (4-for-4).
Post out-rebounded Felician 45-36, and had 20 second-chance points as opposed to seven for the Golden Falcons. Polanco hit four of the Eagles' ten three-pointers. Freshman
Sha'Raya Haines (Springfield, Ma.) finished with 11 points and seven rebounds and junior
Taylor Ceballos (Milford, Conn.) had 11 points and five rebounds.
