Women's Soccer Plays To Scoreless Draw Against Chestnut Hill

Lafayette Hill, Pa. - The Post University women's soccer team took 33 shots - 17 of them on goal - but could not get one in the back of the net and senior goalkeepe, senior Cheyenne Grim (Gettysburg, Pa.) had nine saves, as it played to a 0-0 draw with Chestnut Hill on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.

With the draw, the Eagles are now 2-6-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the CACC.

Freshman Katherine Garcia (Bridgeport, Conn.) and sophomore Fenna Maarse (Hilversum, Netherlands) led the Eagles with nine shots apiece. Garcia had five of those shots on goal, while Maarse had two on goal. Freshman Gorgi Van Lienen (Palmerston, New Zealand) had seven shots with three of them on goal..

Grim's most important saves came in the final seconds of the second overtime, preserving the tie, stopping a shot from Maddie Jimenez with 57 seconds left and one from Gabby Fanfarillo with 29 seconds left.

Paris Banks had a day for herself in the net for Chestnut Hill, stopping 17 shots. Marikate O'Toole led the Griffins (2-6-1, 1-4-1 CACC) with six shots, three of them on goal.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home game against Wilmington at noon on October 6.
