Sprint Football Breaks Streak, Beat Caldwell 28-14

It was a beautiful day at LaMoy Field for the Post Sprint Football team to end their losing streak.

Buddy Enriquez (Sacramento, CA) had himself a day, throwing for 196 yards, three passing touchdowns and one rushing score. Enriquez also connected on all four PAT attempts. The rushing score would tie the game at 7-7 after Caldwell opened up the game with a long touchdown pass.

Post went on to score two more unanswered touchdowns. The first was a eight yard touchdown pass to Shase Barka. The last of the unanswered scores was a 14 yard strike to Devin Givens (New Orleans, LA) to make put Post up 21-7.

Caldwell answered with a late third quarter touchdown to cut the deficit to 21-14.

Post then put the nail in coffin when Ladarrius Phillips brought in a seven yard touchdown on a slant pattern to put the Eagles up 28-14.

The Eagles had a bunch of standout performances on defense, starting with Tyler Mitza, who racked up 5 tackles, .5 sacks and one timely interception.

Matthew Terlizzi (Watertown, CT) and Cameron Francette (Baytown, TX) each had 11 tackles on the day.

Giovanni Torres also had a fine game on defense, contributing with eight tackles and two pass breakups.

Next up for the Eagles will be the Homecoming Game, October 13th vs Mansfield University (12:00 p.m.) at LaMoy field.
