It was a beautiful day at LaMoy Field for the Post Sprint Football team to end their losing streak.
Buddy Enriquez (Sacramento, CA) had himself a day, throwing for 196 yards, three passing touchdowns and one rushing score. Enriquez also connected on all four PAT attempts. The rushing score would tie the game at 7-7 after Caldwell opened up the game with a long touchdown pass.
Post went on to score two more unanswered touchdowns. The first was a eight yard touchdown pass to Shase Barka. The last of the unanswered scores was a 14 yard strike to Devin Givens (New Orleans, LA) to make put Post up 21-7.
Caldwell answered with a late third quarter touchdown to cut the deficit to 21-14.
Post then put the nail in coffin when Ladarrius Phillips brought in a seven yard touchdown on a slant pattern to put the Eagles up 28-14.
The Eagles had a bunch of standout performances on defense, starting with Tyler Mitza, who racked up 5 tackles, .5 sacks and one timely interception.
Matthew Terlizzi (Watertown, CT) and Cameron Francette (Baytown, TX) each had 11 tackles on the day.
Giovanni Torres also had a fine game on defense, contributing with eight tackles and two pass breakups.
Next up for the Eagles will be the Homecoming Game, October 13th vs Mansfield University (12:00 p.m.) at LaMoy field.
