Newark, De. – The Post University women's volleyball team had its three-game winning streak snapped, losing to Wilmington, 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-23) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup.
Senior Madison Hunziker (Sacramento, Calif.) tied for the game-high in kills with 15 and classmate Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) led all players in assists with 34.
The Eagles held leads of 2-1 in the second set and jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third set after back-to-back kills by Hunziker.
Post's biggest run of the match came at the end of the final set. Down, 24-18, the Eagles made the Wildcats sweat, scoring five straight points - including two more kills from Hunziker – to make it a 24-23 match before Wilmington closed out the match on a block from Rebecca Rawlinson and Jill Braunsberg.
Junior Ann Marie Nelson (Draper, Utah) led the Eagles (5-9, 2-1 CACC) in blocks with three.
Mandy Behiels led Wilmington (8-8, 2-2 CACC) in kills with 15. Angel Oliver of the Wildcats led all players with six blocks.
Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home game against Felician on September 19 at 7 p.m.
