MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over Western Connecticut to wrap up the regular season on Wednesday afternoon.
Seniors
Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and
Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) defeated Jeffrey Baker and Matthew Carino 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Junior
Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) and sophomore
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) won 8-2 and No. 2. Juniors
Peter Rossel (Vienna, Austria) and
Jonathan Compres (Rockland County, N.Y.) defeated grabbed an 8-1 win.
At No. 1 singles, Crvelin won 6-0, 6-2 over Aaron Campos and Compres defeated Carino 6-1, 6-0.
Rajevac, Henrikson, and sophomore
Joe Alvord (Southbury, Conn.) each won their singles matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Senior
Cole Nelson (Wolcott, Conn.) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
Post is back at home on Saturday for the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament. The third-seeded Eagles will play No. 2 Chestnut Hill at 1 p.m. Winner advances to championship match on Sunday.
