BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Post University women's lacrosse team fell to in-state rival Bridgeport 20-7 on Saturday afternoon. Junior
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) scored three times forth Eagles in the loss.
Bridgeport got on the board first with three goals to start the game. Senior
Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) started the scoring for Post with 24:08 to play in the half off a pass from freshman
Sydney Hogan (Northford, Conn.). Hogan added her team-leading 20
th goal of the season later in the half. Deren scored with 8:53 to play as the score was 11-3 at the break.
Post grabbed some momentum to start the second, scoring three of the first four goals to trim the deficit to 12-6. Deren, Schwack and junior
Alana Lopez (Wolcott, Conn.) scored early for the Eagles. Deren also added a late goal off an assist from freshman
Julia Thomas (Wading River, N.Y.).
Freshman
Noreen Donnelly (Staten Island, N.Y.) made 10 saves in the loss.
Post returns to action on Wednesday afternoon at Dominican 4 p.m.
