Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Eagles Lacrosse Leads Early, Downed by St. Michael’s 12-3

Parente scores twice in defeat

COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Post University men's lacrosse team fell to St. Michael's 12-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Duffy Field in Colchester, Vt.

The day started off well for the Eagles as senior Frank Nichols Jr. (Carlsbad, Calif.) found classmate Dominick Parente (Monroe Township, N.J.) midway through the first to put Post in front 1-0. St. Michael's answered with two goals of its own. Sophomore Corey Auten (Stratford, Conn.) tied the game 2-2 with five seconds left in the quarter off a pass from junior Sean Olsen (Old Bridge, N.J.)

The Purple Knights took control of the game in the second as they scored six goals in the first five minutes to jump in front 8-2 and held that lead at the half. Down 9-2 with 6:16 to play in the third, Nichols connected with Parente for a goal once again, but the Eagles were unable to score again.

Sophomore goaltender Manuele D'Alessio (Mount Laurel, N.J.) made a season-high 24 saves. Junior Paul Bossardet (Gales Ferry, Conn.) grabbed four ground balls. Senior Mike Brumber (Hicksville, N.Y.) and freshman Ryan Beaulieu (Salem, N.H.) each had two ground balls and a team-best two caused turnovers.

Post returns to action on Wednesday, April 4 at No. 14 LIU Post. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
