ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Post University men's tennis team closed out it trip down south in style with a 6-3 win over Eckerd. The Eagles are now 2-5 heading into Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
In doubles action, seniors
Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and
Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) grabbed an 8-5 win at No. 1. Juniors
Peter Rossel (Vienna, Austria) and
Jonathan Compres (Rockland County, N.Y.) won 8-4 at No. 3 to put the Eagles in front 2-1.
Crvelin defeated Alasdair Knox 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Sophomore
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) grabbed a 7-5, 6-0 victory at No. 4. Rossel won 6-3, 6-0 over Connor Masella and sophomore
Joe Alvord (Southbury, Conn.) dropped his first set, but battled back for a 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6.
Post begins CACC on Saturday, March 24 on the road at Jefferson in Philadelphia. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
