Boca Raton, Fla. – The Post University Baseball team's seven game winning streak came to an end, losing to Southern Connecticut State University, 11-2 on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles (7-4) took an early 1-0 as junior John Cartagena Jr. (Danbury, Conn.) singled to score senior Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.), giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
The Owls (8-4) tied it in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI double by Nolan Cloutier before freshman Connor Kolich (Mahwah, N.J.) hit his first collegiate home run to give the Eagles the 2-1 lead in the top of the third.
Unfortunately, the Owls put up three runs in the third to take the lead for good and scored multiple runs from the third to the sixth innings to take an 11-2 lead.
Cartagena Jr. finished the game going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Kolich finished 1-for-3.
Cloutier was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run for the Owls.
Up next for the Eagles is a matchup with fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe Caldwell on March 13 in a non-conference game.
