BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Post University men's tennis team dropped a closed match to ASA College 5-4 on Friday in New York City to open its spring schedule
Post led 2-1 after doubles. Juniors
Peter Rossel (Vienna, Austria) and
Jonathan Compres (Rockland County, N.Y.) took a point with an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Sophomore
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) and junior
Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) won their match at No. 2, 8-1.
Urban won his singles match against Agustin Jalil Leon at No. 3, 6-4, 6-1. Sophomore
Joe Alvord (Southbury, Conn.) defeated Sergey Semjonov 6-4, 6-4 to put the Eagles within a point of clinching the match.
Senior
Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and Compres each took the first set of their singles matches but were unable to win in three sets as the Eagles lost the match.
Post will begin its spring break trip on Monday, March 12 against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 11:30 a.m. in Kissimmee, Fla.
