Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Chambers Scores 19, But Eagles Lose To Felician, 80-72

Waterbury, Conn. – Junior Lauren Chambers (Lebanon, Pa.) scored a game-high 19 points, but the Post University women's basketball team's three game winning streak came to an end in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to Felician, 80-72.

Both teams played a back and forth first quarter as the teams swapped leads seven times, with the Eagles taking a 16-14 lead after the first ten minutes. Chambers – the reigning co-player of the week in the CACC – scored the final four points in the quarter. She finished with six points in the first quarter, as did freshman Meaghan Gotham (Revere, Mass.).

Chambers added five more points in the second quarter, including hitting her only three-point attempt of the half, but Felician would take a slim 28-27 lead at the half.

After a hot shooting start from Felician in the third quarter gave them a 48-30 lead over the Eagles, Post was able to go on a 14-4 run of their own to cut the deficit to 52-44 with 2:18 left in the quarter. During the stretch, graduate student Jasmyne Fogle (Bridgeport, Conn.) hit two three-pointers. Felician would take a 58-47 lead heading into the fourth.

The Eagles would get as close as six points in the fourth, but Felician was able to hit their free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Fogle finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Gotham had 12 points and eight rebounds and junior Kiana Nichols (Newburgh, N.Y.) had ten points.

The Eagles made the most of Felician's mistakes, scoring 16 points on 16 turnovers by the Golden Falcons as well as going 16-for-19 (84.2%) from the free throw line.

Bionca Chambers had 18 points to lead Felician. Shana Owen had 17 points.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC road game at University of the Sciences on February 10 at 1 p.m.
