WORCESTER, Mass. – The Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Assumption 20-4 to begin its season on Wednesday afternoon in Worcester, Mass.
 
The Eagles' leading scorer last season junior Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) scored two goals on the afternoon. She was 2-for-2 on free-position shots. Junior Alana Lopez (Wolcott, Conn.) and freshman Sydney Hogan (Northford, Conn.) each recorded their first-career goals.
 
Sophomore Jaylene Souto (Middletown, R.I.) and Deren each had a team-high three draw controls. Freshman goaltender Noreen Donnelly (Staten Island, N.Y.) made four saves.
 
Post returns to action on Saturday afternoon at American International in Springfield, Mass. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m.
