SHELTON, Conn. – The Post University men's ice hockey team fell to Northeast-10 opponent St. Michael's 3-0 at the SportsCenter of Connecticut. The Eagles played the game in support of autism awareness and will donate all proceeds to Autism Speaks.
"We played at a great pace and had some chances. I am looking forward to hitting the ice against this team tomorrow," said Eagles' head coach Peter Whitney.
Freshman
Brandon Brown (Hanahan, S.C.) made 20 saves in the first period to keep the Purple Knights off the board. St. Michael's got on the board with a power-play goal at the 4:18 mark of the second and added another late in the period. Post had four shots on the power-play in the final two minutes of the frame but were unable to score.
The Purple Knights added their final goal with just over five minutes left to play.
Shots on the night favored St. Michael's 49-27. Sophomore
Tyler Hackett (Branford, Conn.) and junior
Brian Hurley (Long Beach, N.Y.) each had five shots. Brown finished with 46 saves on the night.
Post returns to action against the Purple Knights tomorrow afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
