Red Hot Eagles Score Five Unanswered Goals To Beat Concordia 5-2

When and Where: October 23 - Post at Concordia - Men's Soccer - Bronxville, NY



Records: Post 9-6-1 (8-2-1) - Concordia 5-7-2 (5-5-1)

Men's Soccer found themselves in an early 2-0 hole after coming out of the gates sluggish. Concordia netted two first half goals within seven minutes of each other to create the early lead. However, Post would storm back with two late first half goals of their own, both coming from Alvaro Sanchez. 

The Eagles picked up right where they left off when the second half started. Phillimon Bedard-Khalid scored shortly after the second half whistle, followed by Sergio Sanchez. Sergio Diaz capped the scoring with the games final goal to make it 5-2. 

Where We Stand:

  • With the win over Concordia and Holy Family's tie vs Georgian Court, Men's Soccer are now locked in at the 2nd spot in the CACC 

Dynamic Duo:

  • Alvaro Sanchez has been on a tear, scoring at least one goal in five straight games and seven total goals in that timeframe 
  • Philly Khalid has also racked up at least one goal in five straight games

Leading The Pack:

  • The great Sergio Diaz leads the CACC in total points (39) and assists (15)
  • With his goal today, Diaz moved up to 2nd in the CACC with 12 goals 

Finishing Strong:

  • Sergio Sanchez has put together a great end to the regular season, scoring three goals and tallying one assist in the past five games 

Flying Up The Leaderboard:

  • Sophomore Alvaro Sanchez has thrusted himself into 5th place in the CACC with nine goals
