Hunziker Does It All In 3-1 Win Over USciences

What and Where: Post vs. USciences, Women's Volleyball at Philadelphia, Pa.

Result: Post 3, USciences 1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-19)

The Eagles won their fourth consecutive match, putting them over .500 for the season (13-12, 10-4 CACC) as senior Madison Hunziker (Sacramento, Calif.) led Post in kills, blocks and aces for the day in the win over the Devils (6-16, 4-11 CACC) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.

Hunziker's 17 kills, four blocks and four aces were all team-highs for the Eagles.

Things To Know
  • Senior Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) had 48 assists to lead all players. It was her second highest assist total of the year. Her highest was 49 against Concordia on October 9.
  • Hunziker's 23.5 points on the day were a season-high. Twice she had 20 points in a match.
  • The Eagles currently stand at 10-4 in the CACC North Division, putting them in first place.
  • Sophomore Ashley Levatino (Holtsville, N.Y.) also had four blocks. It was her second highest total of the season. Five other times on the season she has had five blocks. She currently sits second in the CACC in blocks per set at 0.96.
  • After losing the first set, the Eagles never trailed in set two, jumping out to a 15-7 lead and never looking back.
  • A 6-0 run midway through the third set help the Eagles cruise to an easy win. Up 13-8, the Eagles scored six straight, five of those points on kills, including two from Levatino.
  • In the fourth set, the Eagles rallied from down 7-2 to take the match. The Eagles scored the final three points of the match, capped by an ace from senior Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.).

What's Next: Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home match against Nyack on October 23 at 7 p.m.
