The Eagles got off to a hot start when Gorgi Van Lienen scored less than two minutes into the contest. Van Lienen found a pass from Kylee Opper and tucked home a shot in bottom left corner of the goal.Â
Katherine Garcia added to the early lead about 15 minutes later, scoring the second goal of her freshman season, assisted by Van Lienen. For Van Lienen. For Van Lienen, it was her second assist of the season.
Nyack drew a foul in the box and earned a penalty shot and converted it midway through the second half to bring the score to 2-1, putting pressure on the Eagles to remain strong for the next 30 minutes.Â
The Eagles were up to challenge. After holding strong on defense, Hope Wilson put the nail in the coffin with a late second half goal. Wilson's goal pushed the score to 3-1, which is where the game ended.Â
Imelda Lazzaro played a great game in her first start at GKÂ this season. Lazzaro allowed one goal (penalty shot) and made eight saves, including an impressive diving stop after facing a sequence of quick shots in the second half.Â
