HERSHEY, Pa. – The Post University men's ice hockey team dropped a tough 2-1 game at Lebanon Valley on Wednesday night at Hersheypark Arena in Hershey, Pa. Freshman
Evan Lugo (Sandy Hook, Conn.) scored his fifth goal of the year and has now recorded a point in three straight games.
After a scoreless first period, Lebanon Valley got on the board early in the second period. Lugo tied the game with a power play goal with 4:48 to go in the second. Junior
Brian Hurley (Long Beach, N.Y.) and freshman
Nolan Arbuckle (Wilmington, Mass.) assisted on the score.
The Dutchmen took control in the third and outshot the Eagles 12-1 in the period. Brett Johnson scored the game-winner with 8:31 remaining.
"We came up short tonight and a lack of compete in the third period hurt us. You can't get out shot in the third by such a margin and expect success," said head coach
Pete Whitney.
Freshman goaltender
Brandon Brown (Manassas, Va.) made 33 saves. The game was very physical as the teams combined for 49 penalty minutes.
Post returns home for a weekend series with Franklin Pierce beginning on Friday night at 8 p.m.
