Men’s Soccer Drops Tough OT Match to #18 Southern New Hampshire 2-1

Riello scores first goal of the year

MANCHESTER, N.H. – A goal by Alex Satrustegui in the 97th minute led #18 Southern New Hampshire of the Post men's soccer team on a rainy Wednesday night in Manchester, N.H. The Eagles fall to 1-1 on the early season.

The Eagles found themselves down 1-0 in the 52nd minute off a goal by Romain Daniellou. Post answered to tie the game 1-1 in the 61st minute. Freshman Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain) curled a free kick into the box and junior Andre Riello (Sao Paulo, Brazil) deflected it in on the volley for his first goal of the year.

In the extra period, Tom Marriott headed the ball ahead of the Eagles' defense to Satrustegui for the winner.

Play was even throughout the first half with the Penmen holding a 6-3 advantage in shots, but the Eagles led 2-1 in shots on goal. Post had a few chances to break the scoreless tie down the stretch, with the best coming on a cross by Diaz that passed in front of the open net, but an Eagle could not get a foot on it and the game was scoreless at the half.

Post returns home on Saturday for its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match of the year against Jefferson. Kickoff at LaMoy Field is set for 3 p.m.
