Hope Wilson (Mahopac, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the season, but the Post University women's soccer team lost another overtime heartbreaker to St. Michael's, 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The Eagles are now 0-2-0 on the season.
Wilson's goal came in the 63
rd minute to tie the game at 1-1. Freshman
Erika Quinones (Bridgeport, Conn.) broke through the defense in the middle of the pitch, and dribbled down the ball about 30 yards before passing it off to Wilson who booted it past goalkeeper Lindsay St. Pierre.
In overtime, the Eagles were called for a foul about 25 yards away on the left side of the goal in the 93
rd minute. Meghan Dieterle wrapped a shot around a three-person wall and over the outstretched hands of junior goalkeeper
Cailah Baranowski (Naugatuck, Conn.) to give the Purple Knights the win.
Baranowski finished with eight saves on the day.
Up next for the Eagles is an out of conference game at Southern New Hampshire on September 6 at 5 p.m.
