Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University baseball team was eliminated from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tournament after dropping a 7-0 game to Dominican.
Starting junior
Nick Arnold (West Islip, N.Y.) pitched six innings, striking out six and giving up three runs on nine hits for the third-seeded Eagles.
Offensively, the Eagles (20-23-1) were led by sophomore
John Cartagena Jr. (Danbury, Conn.), who went 2-for-4.
The Chargers (18-26), seeded sixth, scored three runs in the top of the fourth as Jordan Bernacet singled to drive in a run, followed by a sac fly from Tyler Malia, and capped by an RBI single by Joseph Libio.
Dominican struck for three more runs in the top of the seventh off of reliever, senior
Alex Johnson (Bethel, Conn.), highlighted by a two-run single by Bernacet to make it a 6-0 game. Dominican added one more run in the top of the eighth.
Kraigen Rasalla pitched eight innings for Dominican, striking out one.
