FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Post University women's lacrosse team was defeated by Queens 18-4 on the road Saturday afternoon. Sophomore
Aolani Hermosura (Stamford, Conn.) scored twice in the loss.
After falling behind 2-0 to start the game, junior
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) tallied her team-leading 24
th goal of the year after Queens turnover to pull the Eagles within one. The Knights scored twice more before Hermosura recorded her first goal of the game to make the score 4-2. Post trailed 14-2 at the half.
Freshman
Leona Stevens (Kingston, Mass.) and Hermosura each scored for the Eagles in the second half.
Senior
Tyra Jones (Rochester, N.Y.) led Post with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Hermosura won two draw controls. Junior
Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) made nine saves in her first start in goal of the season.
Post returns to action on Tuesday, April 18 at Georgian Court. Opening draw is set for 3:30 p.m.
