Waterbury, Conn. – Junior Gabriela Middleton (Coral Springs, Fla.) hit four three-pointers and scored 17 points, but the Post University women's basketball team lost 79-63 to Wilmington on Saturday afternoon at the Drubner Center in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.
 
Senior Tyra Jones (Rochester, N.Y.) made the most of her senior day, scoring a team-high 18 points.
 
The Eagles (2-23, 2-11 CACC) and Wildcats swapped leads four times in a frenetic first quarter, eventually tying at 14-14 to end the first ten minutes. Senior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) scored the final six points of the quarter, including a layup with two seconds left to tie the game.
 
Wilmington would take a 34-25 lead at the half, but the Eagles were able to trim the deficit to five points with 9:27 left in the third on two free-throws by Jones to make it a 34-29 Wilmington  (12-13, 9-7 CACC)lead. It would be the closest the Eagles would get in the third as the Wildcats would go on a 29-13 run to close the quarter and lead 63-42 heading into the fourth.
 
The Eagles outscored the Wildcats 21-16 in the fourth, as Middleton hit three of her three-pointers in the quarter.
 
Acklin, who was also playing her final home game at Post, finished with nine points. Classmate Shontera Williams (Marksville, La.) had seven points and eight rebounds and Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) finished with five points.
 
Macy Robinson of Wilmington led all scorers with 20 points. LaShyra Williams and Jasmine Lee each finished with 17 points.
