Men’s Basketball Drops CACC Road Contest at Felician 79-67

Desrosiers scores 26 points in loss

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Post University men's basketball team fell to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division rival Felician 79-67 at Job Gymnasium in Rutherford, N.J. on Wednesday night. The Eagles are now 9-12 overall and 8-6 in conference play.

Junior Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) scored a season-high 26 points and hit six three-pointers. Senior Malcolm Amos (Brookport, Ill.) had 20 points on 4-of-8 shooting from distance. Sophomore Adnan Halilovich (Mali Zvonik, Serbia) added 11 points and a career-best eight rebounds off the bench.

Desrosiers got the Eagles off to a quick start with seven early points as Post built a 9-4 lead four minutes into the game. Both teams went cold from there as neither made a basket for over five minutes until a three by Felician with 11:12 left in the half tied the score 9-9.

The teams traded baskets the rest of the first half as neither team could build more than a three-point lead. Junior Naasir Williams (Harlem, N.Y.) found Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) for an easy layup with 20 seconds remaining and Post led 30-29 at halftime.

Felician stormed out of the break with a 24-4 run to go up 55-34 and never looked back. The Eagles battled to the end and back-to-back threes by Amos down the stretch cut the Golden Falcon lead to single-digits at 75-67 but it was too little too late.

The Eagles shot 35.4 percent from the field while Felician shot at a 45.8 clip and was at 55.2 percent in the second half. The battle on the boards was close with the Golden Falcons holding a 40-37 advantage.
Post returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Goldey-Beacom. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
