Post Women’s Hockey Defeated by Nichols 5-1

DiSciscio scores for Eagles in defeat

Box Score BURRILLVILLE, R.I. – The Post University women's ice hockey team was defeated by Nichols College 5-1 on Saturday afternoon at Levy Rink in Burrillville, R.I. Freshman Ann Margaret DiSciscio (Litchfield, N.H.) scored her team-leading fifth goal of the year in the loss.
 
Post was able to keep the Bison off the board in the first period as shot were fairly close 12-10 in favor of Nichols. Freshman Ashlynn Neurauter (Kamloops, British Columbia) made 12 saves in the period.
 
Nichols came out firing in the second period, scoring three goals, and added another on a power-play with 4:53 to go in the game.
 
DiSciscio put the Eagles on the board with 3:36 remaining to make the score 4-1. The Bison added a late goal.
 
Neurauter finished with 46 saves. Sophomore Molly Brumfield (Columbus, Ohio) had four shots on goal to lead the Eagles.
 
Post takes an extended break until it returns to action against New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) for Holy Cross on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 in Worcester, Mass. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
