Waterbury, Conn. – Graduate student Jasmyne Fogle (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored 16 points, but the Post University women's basketball team dropped its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener to Bloomfield, 69-49 at the Drubner Center Tuesday evening.
After falling behind 43-15 at the half, the Eagles rallied in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 54-35 heading into the fourth. Freshmen Daja Polk (Fairfield, Conn.) and Meaghan Gotham (Revere, Mass.) helped lead the rally with six points in the quarter.
The rally would stall in the fourth as the Bears were able to hang on for the win.
Gotham fell just short of a double-double scoring nine points and grabbing eight rebounds. Polk finished with six points.
Kiamisha Bynes led all scorers, scoring 18 for the Bears (2-6, 2-0 CACC).
Up next for the Eagles (1-4, 0-1 CACC) is a CACC road game at Concordia on December 9 at 1 p.m.
