WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team snapped its two-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over Holy Family on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field. Freshman Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain) scored his first-career hat trick in the win.
 
The Eagles got on the board first in the 12^th minute as freshman Alvaro Sanchez (Madrid, Spain) found Sergio in the box and he scored his first past a diving goalkeeper to the right side. Post continued to pepper the Tigers' goalkeeper with shots but the score remained 1-0.
 
Holy Family tied the game with a penalty kick in the 43^rd minute as the game was 1-1 heading into the half.
 
Post came out of the break looking to open the game up and outshot the Tigers 13-3 in the second half and 9-1 on goal. Sergio deked a defender out and scored his second goal easily in the 49^th minute to put the Eagles in front for good.
 
He completed the trick in the 58^th minute as he launched a cross from sophomore Nicholas Osebio (Bethel, Conn.) from close range past the keeper. Holy Family answered a minute later as Mariano Cepeda scored his second of the game.
 
Sophomore Eden Gendler (Haifa, Israel) put a stamp on the victory with his first goal of the year in the 61^st minute.
 
Post returns to action on Wednesday afternoon at Dominican. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
