PHILADELPHIA– The Post University sprint football team was defeated by defending-Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Champion Penn 42-7 on Friday night at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. The Eagles will play their final home game next weekend.
Penn got on the board twice in the first quarter with touchdown runs by Jake Klaus and Eddie Jenkins. Post was able to get into Quakers territory late in the first with a 15-play, 43-yard drive that stalled on the 33-yard line. Penn added a late touchdown and went into the half with a 21-0 lead.
The Quakers scored three times in a span of 2:29 in the third quarter to put the game away with a 42-0 advantage.
Freshman
Calvin Harris (New Britain, Conn.) picked off a pass deep in Penn territory to set the Eagles up with great field position with a 12:08 to go in the game. Two plays later freshman
David Mosley (Bridgeton, N.J.) hit classmate
Golden Borden (New Orleans, La.) from 10-yards out for Post's first passing touchdown of the season to make the final score 42-7.
Mosley finished with 74 passing yards and 42 rushing yards on the night to lead the Eagles. Freshman
Luis Medina (Bristol, Conn.) added 25 yards on the ground. Freshman
Devin Givens (New Orleans, La.) caught four balls for 19 yards.
Senior
Trevor Patterson (Wildomar, Calif.) finished with five tackles and a sack. Freshman
Parker Cocklin (Dinuba, Calif.) added four stops.
Post is back in Waterbury on Saturday, Oct. 28 for its final home game of the season against Chestnut Hill at Municipal Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
