Waterbury, Conn. - After a tight first quarter, the Post University women's basketball team dropped an 87-55 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Bloomfield on Tuesday evening.
The two teams played a tight first quarter as the teams traded leads four times. After the Bears went up 7-2 early on, the Eagles rattled off an 8-0 run to take a 10-7 lead with 3:31 remaining in the frame. Four different players scored for the Eagles. Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) and
Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) and sophomore
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) scored two points apiece for Post. Bloomfield finished with a 13-7 run to close out the quarter, leading 20-17.
Post (2-22, 2-13 CACC) cut the deficit to one point on three different occasions to begin the quarter. However, with the score 22-21, Bloomfield (20-5, 16-0 CACC) went on a 21-6 run to close out the half and lead 43-27.
In the third quarter, Bloomfield increased its lead to 68-41. Sophomore
Georgia Black (Burlington, Vt.) hit two three-pointers for the Eagles in the quarter. She hit three of her four attempts from deep and scored all 11 of her points in the second half.
 Junior
Tyra Jones (Rochester, N.Y.) scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds. Sheloski finished with six points and eight rebounds.
Tianna Smith of Bloomfield finished with 22 points to lead the Bears. Ariel Wilson chipped in with 11.
