PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University women's basketball team saw its two-game win streak end on Saturday as the Eagles fell to Holy Family 78-45 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup. Sophomore
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) led Post with 10 points.
Post found itself down 15-6 with 3:27 left in the first quarter. Deren dropped a three to cut the deficit to six points. On Holy Family's ensuing possession, Deren stole the ball and drained a fastbreak layup in transition as the Eagles ended the quarter on a 12-4 run and were down just 19-18 at the break.
The Eagles continued their success to start the second quarter as freshman
Gabriela Middleton (Coral Springs, Fla.) found sophomore
Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) for a jumper to put Post in front 20-19. The Tigers answered with a basket on the other end and never looked back.
Childs-Harris grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. The Eagles held a 15-8 advantage in second-chance points.
Post returns home on Tuesday night against CACC North-leading Bloomfield. Tip-off at Drubner is set for 5:30 p.m.
