SHELTON, Conn. – The Post University men's ice hockey team was defeated by Trinity 8-6 on Friday night at the Sports Center of Connecticut. Sophomore
Dave Canfarotta (Stratford, Conn.) scored twice and has five goals in the last two games.
Trinity quickly went up 2-0, but the Eagles cut the deficit to one midway through the first period as freshman
Patrick McCarthy (Ware, Mass.) scored off a pass from freshman Joe Gianinni III (Branford, Conn.). Gianinni had three assists on the night.
The Bantams added two more goals. Junior
Trevor Buchas (Bristol, Conn.) scored on a powerplay late in the period as Post trailed 4-2 after one.
The Eagles found themselves down 8-2 in the second period, but Post scored the final four goals of the game to nearly mount the comeback. Canfarotta scored both his goals in the second period. Sophomore Ludvig Henrickson (Taby, Sweden) added his first goal of the season. Freshman
Peter Petrino (Derby, Conn.) scored the only goal of the third period.
Post returns to action Saturday, Feb. 13 on the road at Daniel Webster. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
