PREVIEW: Eagles Ready For CACC Quarterfinal Matchup with USciences

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team will makes its 11th consecutive appearance in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament on Saturday as the Eagles host USciences in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Post has been in every conference tournament since 2006, the longest active streak in the CACC.
 
The Eagles finished the regular season with an overall record of 14-12 and was 10-9 in CACC play to earn the second seed in the North Division. Post defeated Dominican 62-43 on Tuesday in its season finale. Sophomore Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) was named Second Team All-CACC on Friday. He leads the Eagles with 16.0 points per game.
 
SCOUTING THE DEVILS
USciences enters the tournament as the third seed in the South Division with an overall record of 16-11 and was 12-7 in conference play. The Devils placed two on the All-CACC team led by first teamer Sho Da-Silva. Da-Silva is second in the league, averaging 20.1 points per game, and leads the CACC with 69 blocked shots. Wes Kerr was named to the third team and averages 13.6 points per game. USciences is one of the top defensive teams in the CACC as they are near the top in points per game allowed (66.2 – 3rd), opponents field goal percentage (42.0% - 3rd), and opponents three-point percentage (33.3- 4th).
 
SERIES VS. USCIENCES
Post is 12-7 overall against the Devils dating back to 2004. The Eagles are 6-2 at Drubner during the series and have won seven of the last nine meetings between the two teams. Early this season the Devils defeated Post 76-64 in Philadelphia.
 
POST IN THE CACC TOURNAMENT
Post has made the conference tournament 11 years in a row, the longest active streak in the CACC. The Eagles are 3-11 in the tournament dating back to 2004. In each of the last four seasons, Post fell to Philadelphia in the opening round. The Eagles are 1-1 in the tournament against USciences with their victory coming in 2004. Post captured the CACC Championship in 2003.
