Tyra Jones (Rochester, N.Y.) scored 28 points and sophomore
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) scored 20 as the Post University Eagles defeated Concordia, 80-68 on Saturday afternoon at the Drubner Center.
The Eagles jumped out to a 7-3 early on as Jones made two layups to begin the game, followed by a three from Deren. After the Clippers stormed back to take a 10-9 lead, the Eagles scored eight straight points to take a 17-10 lead. Jones scored five of her 15 first quarter points in the stretch. Post would take a 23-15 lead going into the second quarter.
Post would  increase its lead to 38-26 in the second quarter as sophomore
Jeshanah Martinez (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored four points and freshman
Rezana Todman (San Antonio, Texas) scored three points.
Jones scored 21 points in the first half, and Martinez scored seven to pace the Eagles.
Concordia cut the deficit to six points as they outscored the Eagles 8-2 over the final 3:12 of the quarter. Deren scored 10 points in the quarter, including two three-pointers.
Post was able to put the game away in the fourth quarter, not letting the Clippers get any closer the rest of the way. Deren scored seven in the fourth and Martinez scored six.
Martinez finished with a career high 15 points and six rebounds. Deren was 4-for-6 from three-point land. Jones was 11-for 15 from the field.Â
Julianne Wilkinson led all Clippers in scoring with 18 points. Courtney Fleming scored 13. Khadijah Donaldson had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Up next for the Eagles is their final regular season game of the year as they take on Dominican on the road in a CACC clash on Feb. 23. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
