SHELTON, Conn. – The Post University women's ice hockey team was defeated by Southern Maine 7-0 at the SportsCenter of Connecticut on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 0-7 on the year while the Huskies improve to 3-5.
Southern Maine built a 4-0 lead in the first period and did not look back. Julia Ormsby scored her first of two goals in the period. The Eagles had just three shots in the first.
The Huskies added two goals in the second and one early in the third.
Freshman
Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, B.C.) had three shots on the day to lead Post. Classmate
Molly Brumfield (Columbus, Ohio) recorded two shots and won six face offs. Goalkeeper
Jenna Baumgartner (Roseau, Minn.) made 49 saves on the day.
Post begins a 12-game road trip on Friday, Dec. 9 at SUNY Cortland. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
