Pleasantville, N.Y. – Senior
Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 21 points to lead all scorers, but the Post University women's basketball team lost 74-58 to Pace in an out-of-conference match on Sunday afternoon.
After falling behind 20-9 in the first quarter, the Eagles (0-6) rattled off a 7-0 run to end the quarter with just a four point deficit as Acklin scored five points during the stretch.
The second quarter saw Pace extend its lead to 43-26 at halftime. Acklin scored nine points in the first half.
Post made a run in the third quarter, outscoring the Setters, 20-11 and knocking its deficit down to as little as seven points during the frame. Senior
Tyra Jones (Rochester, N.Y.) scored seven points and Acklin scored six points to lead the Eagles on their comeback attempt.
Pace would pull away early in the fourth quarter, going on a 12-0 run to start the quarter.
Senior
Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) and Jones each finished with nine points for the Eagles.
Kirsten Dodge led Pace in points and rebounds with 12 and eight, respectively. Alexandra Monteleone had 11 points.
