WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University sprint football team was defeated by Army 64-0 at home on Saturday afternoon. Senior
Bernard Peterson (Pasadena, Md.) picked off the sixth pass of his career to become the Eagles all-time leader in interceptions.
The Eagles best drive of the day came midway through the second quarter. Post started on its own 44 yard line after a 14-yard punt return by senior
Jarrick Sharp (Hampton, Va.). Freshman quarterback
Buddy Enriquez (Sacramento, Calif.) was sacked on the opening play of the drive but later found sophomore
Robert Sherry III (New Milford, Conn.) for 26 yards down to the Black Knights' 23-yard line. Post was unable to convert on a fourth down and turned the ball over to Army.
Peterson intercepted the first play of the ensuing drive to break the Eagles career interception record. Post was unable to get anything going on offense on its next drive and was forced to punt.
Army scored a touchdown on its next drive but senior linebacker
Chris Leggio (Brewster, N.Y.) blocked the extra point.
Enriquez threw for 115 yards and Sherry grabbed a team-high five passes for 52 yards. Leggio made 15 tackles. Senior
Greg Volpe (West Haven, Conn.) added 11 tackles.
The Eagles are back on the road against Cornell on Friday, Oct. 21. Kickoff in Ithaca, N.Y. is slated for 7 p.m.
