Waterbury, Conn. - Jovan Kingwood scored 13 points to lead the Post University women's basketball team in an 83-44 loss to Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
The Griffins jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter before Post cut its deficit to 13-7, thanks in large part to two jump shots from junior
Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.). Chestnut Hill would finish the first quarter leading 19-7.
Post's offense opened up in the second quarter as they doubled the amount of points it scored in the first quarter with 14.
Jovan Kingwood scored eight straight points during a 2:56 stretch. Chestnut Hill led 39-21 at the half.
The third quarter was very competitive as the Griffins outscored the Eagles 17-16. Kingwood scored five points in the quarter and Sheloski scored six to pace the Eagles.
Chestnut Hill scored the first 12 points of the fourth quarter and were able to put the Eagles away down the stretch.
Sheloski finished with 10 points and three rebounds. Sophomore
Jeshanah Martinez (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the Eagles in rebounds with seven.
Mary Trossi led four Griffins in double figures with 25 points on 10-for-16 shooting. Caity Kuhnen scored 23 and Jaeda Wildgoose had 12.
