Waterbury, Conn. – Junior Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) notched her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Post University Eagles fell to Pace, 75-47 in a non-conference game at the Drubner Center.
The Eagles are now 0-13 on the season. Pace is 8-6.
The Eagles held two point leads three times within the first 3:48 of the game, as a jumper from sophomore Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) and two more jumpers from Sheloski gave the Eagles a 6-4 lead at the 6:57 mark before Pace's Stefanie Svoboda gave the Setters their first lead with a three-pointer at the 6:12 mark.
Pace would end the first quarter leading 12-9.
After the Setters started the second quarter with a 6-2 run to go up 18-11 with 7:08 left, the Eagles stormed back with a 7-0 run of their own to tie the game. A layup from sophomore Jeshanah Martinez (Staten Island, N.Y.), a three-pointer by junior Jessica Ayala (Middletown, N.Y.) and a layup from junior Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) were all of the points scored during the run. Pace closed with a 16-5 run at the end of the quarter to go up 34-23 at halftime.
Pace extended its lead to 59-34 at the end of the third quarter before closing out the game in the fourth quarter.
The Eagles held the rebounding edge at 45-43. Junior Jovan Kingwood (Norwich, Conn.) finished with 10 points for her fourth straight game in double figures. Childs-Harris scored eight points to go with five assists. Ayala had five points and five rebounds.
For Pace, Alexandra Monteleone and Shanice Maynard each scored a team-high 13 points. Kirsten Dodge had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Eagles return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Action for their next game as they take on Chestnut Hill on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. tip at the Drubner Center.
