Wilmington, De. - Junior
Jovan Kingwood (Norwich, Conn.) followed up her career game with another solid outing, scoring 18 points as the Post University women's basketball team fell to Wilmington, 74-51 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.
Post jumped out to an early 11-6 lead as Kingwood and junior
Jessica Ayala (Middletown, N.Y.) each scored four points during the run. Sophomore
Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) tacked on the other three points during the stretch. Wilmington closed out with a 7-2 run to take a 13-12 lead going into the second quarter.
After the Wildcats took a 16-12 lead early in the second quarter, the Eagles (0-16, 0-8 CACC) tied it up on a layup from junior
Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) and two layups from Kingwood. Wilmington would take a 30-24 lead going into halftime. Kingwood finished the half leading all scorers with 11 points.
The Wildcats (8-9, 3-5 CACC) increased their lead to 14 points (44-30) in the first 5:10 of the third quarter, but a layup and two free throws by junior
Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) and a jumper from Kingwood brought the deficit back down to eight. Wilmington closed out with a 6-2 run to end the half and increased it to a 20-5 run well into the fourth to put the game away.

Jeshanah Martinez (Staten Island. N.Y.) each finished with seven points. Kingwood made the most of her trips to the free throw line, going 10-for-15 from the charity stripe. She, along with Sims, each pulled down eight rebounds.
Zameria Jones came off the bench to lead all Wildcats in scoring with 15 points. Ashri Broadwater finished with 12 points and Ebonee Dixon scored 11.
Up next is a non-conference home game against Saint Michael's at 2 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the Drubner Center.
