Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's soccer team dropped lost 2-0 to Pace in the team's home opener at LaMoy Field Saturday afternoon in an out of conference game.
With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 0-2 on the season. Pace is now 2-0.
The first half was scoreless until the 34th minute as Tiffany Brewer put one past Eagles goalie senior Laura Morgan (Brush Prairie, Wash) in the box to give the Setters a 1-0 lead.
Post's offense had just one shot on goal in the half as a shot Valerie Moore (Bloomfield, Conn.) was stopped by Pace goalie, Aisha Chauhan.
The second half was scoreless for the first 40 minutes until Ariana Bresa scored in the 86th minute after a physical battle in the box for possession, sneaking it by senior Brittany Carroll (Plainville, Conn.)
The game was physical throughout, as the teams combined for 17 fouls and four yellow cards.
Up next for the Eagles is a road game at Southern New Hampshire on September 9th at 4 p.m.
