Acklin's Career-High Lead Eagles Past Chestnut Hill

Freshmen Childs-Harris And Viselli Come Up Big

WaterbPhiladelphia, Pa.
- Junior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) scored a career high 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds and freshman Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) had a double-double with 16 points and  10 rebounds and the Post University women's basketball team snapped an eight game losing streak as it defeated Chestnut Hill 73-68 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road game on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Eagles improved to 6-20 overall and 6-11 in the CACC.

The Griffins jumped out to  a 21-11 lead early on before the Eagles finished with a 17-8 run to close the half and cut the deficit to one point (29-28) going in to the half.

Acklin scored nine points in the first half and sophomore Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) score seven points and grabbed seven boards in the half.

The Griffins would jump out to a 7-0 run before Acklin, freshman Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) and Childs-Harris would keep the Eagles in the game before it could get away.

The two teams would keep it even, and Acklin would tie the game up at 53-53 with a layup.

For the next two minutes the teams would swap baskets, but a layup by Childs-Harris and a layup by Acklin would give the Eagles the lead for good, as they would coast to victory over over the final six minutes.

Sims finished with 11 points and nine rebounds and freshman Nicole Viseilli (Groveland, Ma.) had six points and three rebounds.

Up next for the Eagles is their final road game of the season at Bloomfield on Feb. 17 before they come home to play Georgian Court on Feb. 21 for their final game of the season.
