Post Loses To Felician, 66-47

Kingwood Scores 19 Off The Bench

Rutherford, N.J. - Junior Jovan Kingwood (Norwich, Conn.) acored 19 points off the bench, but it wasn't enough as the Post University women's basketball team fell to Felician, 66-47 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the Eagles drop to 0-8 on the season and 0-3 in the CACC. Felician is now 1-6 overall and 1-1 in the CACC.

The Eagles jumped out to a 16-13 lead after the first quarter thanks in large part to a 13-5 run to close out the quarter. After being down 9-3, freshman Gabriela Middleton (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Kingwood combined for the final ten points to give the Eagles the lead. Middleton jump started the run with two straight jump shots and Kingwood closed with the final nine points of the quarter, including two three-pointers.

The Falcons caught fire in the the beginning of the second quarter, scoring the first 16 points and taking a 29-16 lead with 6:25 left after an Eliana Scanlon jumper.

Felician went into the half with a 38-25 lead.

The Falcons were able to hold off any rally from the Eagles in the second half, outscoring Post 28-22 in the second half. Junior Tyra Jones (Rochester, N.Y.) scored all five of her points in the second half. Kingwood scored six points in the half to pace the Eagles. Middleton finished with nine points

Shyla Osmond led the Falcons with 20 points while Scanlon scored 19. Treanda Foster had nine points to go along with 12 rebounds.

Up next for the Eagles is a home game against Caldwell on December 8. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
