Jovan Kingwood scored 10 points to lead the Post University women's basketball team as it dropped a 76-43 game to No. 18 American International College in a non-conference game.
Down 14-3 early in the first quarter, the Eagles rattled off a 6-0 run thanks to a jumper from junior
Jessica Ayala (Middletown, N.Y.), a layup from junior
Shontera Williams (Marksville, La.) and two free throws from Kingwood before AIC scored the final bucket of the quarter.
The Eagles got to within five points at the 8:08 mark in the second quarter after a jumper from sophomore
Emily McCann (Gold Coast, Australia) before AIC pulled away for a 36-21 lead going into the half.
In the second half, Ayala scored seven of her season-high nine points to pace the Eagles. She also finished with a team-high six rebounds.
Brianna Bishop, Kamika Mason and Alyssa Guyon all scored 11 points to lead the Yellow Jackets.
Up next for the Eagles is a non-conference game against Lock Haven on Dec. 30 at the Drubner Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
