Balanced Scoring Effort Leads Eagles Over Nyack 74-63

Five Eagles Finish in Double Figures

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team defeated Nyack 74-63 on Wednesday in its home opener. The Eagles have won four straight and are now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

Post jumped out to 21-9 lead in the first half as sophomore Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) hit his first five shots and had 13 early points. Sophomore Jah'sheme Ringgold (Easton, Md.) hit a second-chance layup with 10:21 left to give the Eagles their largest lead of the first half at 25-11.

With Post up 11 points, Nyack used a 13-2 run to tie the score 33-33 with under a minute left in the first half. The Eagles led by four at the break as junior Malcom Amos (Brookport, Ill.) found freshman Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) for a layup as the half ended.

Nyack continued to chip away at the lead and with 16:02 left in the game jumped ahead 41-39, its first lead since early in the first half. The Warriors would increase their advantage to four points, but a layup by senior David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) off a Nyack turnover gave the Eagles the lead for good with 11:41 left.

Post led by as many as 14 points before it was over. Junior Shay Agboola (Atlanta, Ga.) had 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench to lead Post in the second half.

Desrosiers scored 15 points to lead all scorers. Okros added 13 points and four rebounds. Post forced 18 turnovers which led to 20 points.

The Eagles return to action on Sunday, November 29 at Saint Anselm. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
