WATERBURY, Conn. – For the second year in a row, the Post University men's soccer team defeated Salem International 2-0 to win the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Championship. Senior
Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) scored the game-winner in the fourth minute and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.
"It was a disappointment not being selected to the NCAA Tournament, but I'm proud that the guys rose to the occasion today and took home the title," said head coach
Ted Haley.

Abdallah Bah (Kenema, Sierra Leone) led a pass to senior
Tiago Martins (Lamas de Olo, Portugal) in the box early in the game. Martins shot was saved by a diving Elliot Cook and Moura was there to bury the rebound and put the Eagles ahead 1-0.
Salem International controlled the remainder of the first half as the Tigers outshot Post 13-4 in the frame. Junior goalkeeper
Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) made six saves in the period, including a point blank shot from Samir Anzil in the 30
th minute to keep the shutout.
The Eagles made some adjustment at the break and help possession throughout most of the second half. Sophomore Stephan Tomasevic (London, England) rocketed home a cross from senior
Gustavo Ferreira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil.) in the 73
rd minute to provide the final margin.
"These guys have worked so hard this season, especially the senior class. All of them have been tremendous throughout the year and during their careers," added Haley.
Post finishes the season with a record of 13-6-1, the third-most wins the squad has had since joining Division II. Salem International closes the year at 10-9-1.
