Bronxville, N.Y. – Junior Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) had ten kills and six blocks and freshman Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) had 29 assists as the Post University Eagles swept Concordia, 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-14) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball match.
With the win, the Eagles are now 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the CACC. Concordia is now 2-4 overall and in the CACC.
In the first set, after the two teams played even for the first six points, the Eagles were able to close out with a 9-2 run – including the final four points - for the double-digit win. Root had an assist on the final kill from junior Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) for the final point.
During a much more competitive second set, Concordia jumped out to a 9-6 lead after a kill from Lauren Peters, but the Eagles would go on a 10-6 run to take a 16-15 lead and never look back.
Set three saw Post jump out to a 12-3 lead, thanks to two aces from Sara Seger and two kills from German. Morgan Griffin and German both finished with three kills apiece in the set.
Morgan Griffin finished with five kills in the match. Senior Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) finished with seven.
The Eagles hit .311 as a team.
