Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) scored 12 points and sophomore
Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) scored 10, but it wasn't enough as the Post University women's basketball team dropped an 83-50 decision to Goldey-Beacom on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.
With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 5-16 overall and 5-7 in the CACC. Goldey-Beacom improved to 9-12 overall and 8-4 in the CACC.
The Lightning jumped out to a 22-6 lead in the first 10 minutes of the first half and was up 43-20 at the half.
Childs-Harris scored 10 points in the half, and grabbed four of her nine rebounds.
Lexi Bruno of the Lightning scored 10 of her 20 points in the first half.
In the second half, the Eagles were able to cut the deficit to 14 points with 14:24 remaining after a steal and layup from junior
Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.), but the Lightning would increase their lead again, making the game out of reach for the Eagles.
Freshman
Nicole Viselli (Groveland, Ma.), coming off her school-record tying seven three-pointers in her last game hit another three from deep for nine points. Classmate
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) also scored nine points.
Bruno, Lililan Chukwueze and Britani Bryson each scored 20 points for the Lightning. Bryson also added 14 points.
Up next for the Eagles is a home game against Nyack on Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m.
